Sealed bids for the Sugar Creek Park Pedestrian
INVITATION FOR BIDSSealed bids for the Sugar Creek Park Pedestrian Bridge Repairs will be received by the City Clerk's Office, until 2:00 P.M., on Tuesday, March 19th, 2024, at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in Council Chambers, City Hall, 12325 Manchester Rd, Des Peres MO 63131. Two copies of the bid must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the project name, date, and time of opening clearly written on the envelope.
The Scope of Work consists of the stabilization and reinforcement of the western abutment of the pedestrian bridge in Sugar Creek Park as indicated in the plans provided by CDG Engineers and the geotechincal report provided by UES.
The bridge was closed in late 2023 due to safety concerns. The City desires to have the bridge repaired as soon as possible so park patrons have full access to the park's amenities. A replacement bridge is currently being designed, with construction being planned for 2025.
The bid documents being utilized are typically used for street projects, and therefore may contain references to street work that do not apply to this project, which is located in a park. The contractor will be responsible for keeping the site safe and secure during operations, but a "Traffic Control Plan" is not required.
Bid packages will be available Monday, February 26, 2024 from the office of the City Clerk, 12325 Manchester Rd, Des Peres MO 63131 or they can be downloaded immediately by visiting http://www.desperesmo.org/bids.aspx
Not less than the prevailing hourly rate of wages shall be paid to all workers performing under this Contract in this area according to the rates determined by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations of the State of Missouri.
A bid security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid amount must accompany each bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
The City reserves the right to accept or reject any bid and to waive any irregularities in the best interest of the City.
