Election and Candidate Filing DatesIn accordance with the state law and ordinances of the City of Frontenac, notice is given that a general non-partisan election shall be held in the City of Frontenac, Missouri on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 for the duly qualified electors of the City to select three Aldermen, one from each ward, for two-year terms of office.
Requirements for position of Alderman (RSMo Section 79.070):
79.070. No person shall be an alderman unless he or she is at least eighteen years of age, a citizen of the United States, and an inhabitant and resident of the city for one year next preceding his or her election, and a resident, at the time he or she files and during the time he or she serves, of the ward from which he or she is elected.
A photo ID will be required for all candidates.
Filing for said offices shall open at 8:00 a.m. and close at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, which time the City Clerk shall receive Declarations of Candidacy, 10555 Clayton Road, Frontenac, Missouri. Thereafter, declarations will be received by the City Clerk or her designee from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday, (excluding holidays or when City Hall is officially closed) until filing closes at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 26, 2023.
The names of candidates filing on the first day of filing for each office on each ballot shall be listed in ascending order of the numbers so drawn. The names of all candidates who file a declaration of candidacy for each office after the first day of filing shall be listed after those filing on the first day in the order in which the declarations of candidacy were filed with the City Clerk.
