NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER THE APPROVAL OF THE CONTINUATION FOR A PERIOD OF TEN YEARS OF AND A PROPOSED INCREASE IN THE SPECIAL TAX LEVY WITHIN THE CENTRAL WEST END SOUTHEAST SPECIAL BUSINESS DISTRICT The Ways & Means Committee of the Board of Aldermen will hold a public hearing to consider the continuation for ten (10) years and an increase in the amount of the tax levy established by Ordinance 63780 as previously amended by Ordinance 68236 and Ordinance 64550, for the Central West End Southeast Special Business District on January 24, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Kennedy Room (#208), City Hall, Tucker and Market Streets. The committee will consider a board bill to submit to the qualified voters of the Central West End Southeast Special Business District a proposal to continue for an additional ten (10) years the levy of a real estate tax on all real property within the district and to increase the amount of such levy to an amount not to exceed eighty-five cents ($.85) on one hundred dollars ($100) assessed valuation of real property within the district for the tax years of 2019 through 2028 and to amend and restate the uses for which the additional revenue produced by such tax may be put to include cleaning, landscaping and maintenance, security and public safety, purchase and installation of public infrastructure, public transportation, administration, and contingency funds for such categories. A copy of Board Bill is available for review in the Office of the Clerk of the Board of Aldermen, Room 230, City Hall, 1200 Market Street, St. Louis Missouri, 63103. At this hearing, the Board of Aldermen will hear all reasonable protests, objections and endorsements, and receive evidence for or against the proposed action and all interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard. If following the hearing the Ways and Means Committee decides to recommend approval of Board Bill, the bill will be considered by the full Board of Aldermen.
