NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Sealed bids for City of Maryland Heights Stormwater Improvements for Autumn Hill Court, Project Bid Number 2018-014 will be received by the City of Maryland Heights, 11911 Dorsett Road, Maryland Heights, MO 63043, until Tuesday, November 20, 2018, 2:00 p.m. CST at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. All bids must be submitted electronically via Bid Express at www.bidexpress.com. All documents necessary to submit a bid will be available on the bidexpress.com website beginning on Monday, November 5, 2018. No paper bids will be accepted.
Plans, specifications and bid packages will be available beginning Monday, November 5, 2018 from Drexel Technologies, 60 Progress Parkway, Maryland Heights, Missouri 63043 for a non-refundable fee. Their telephone number is 314-872-0900.
This project provides for the construction of an underground storm sewer to intercept and convey storm water from the rear of residential property in the vicinity of 12294 Autumn Hill Court by directing it to an existing storm sewer system. The proposed improvement consists of 70 linear feet of 12-inch of Class III reinforced concrete piping and appurtenances or approved alternative. The scope of work includes the removal of vegetation and improvements, earth grading operations and the construction/placement of storm sewer, manhole, area inlet, area inlet top rebuild, topsoil and sodding.
Not less than the prevailing hourly rate of wages shall be paid to all workmen performing under this contract in this area according to the rates determined by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations of the State of Missouri. Projects valued at $75,000 and under are not subject to this provision.
A bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount must accompany each bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
The successful bidder shall comply with the requirements of Section 292.675 RSMo. The requirements include on-site employees to complete the ten (10) hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Construction Safety Program, which includes a course in construction safety and health approved by OSHA or a similar program approved by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations.
For any contract greater than $5,000, the successful bidder shall comply with Section 285.530 RSMo, as amended and by sworn affidavit affirming that it does not knowingly employee any person who is an unauthorized alien and participates in a federal work authorization program with respect to the employees working in connection with this contract. The required documentation must be from the federal work authorization program provider. A letter from contractors reciting compliance is not sufficient.
The City of Maryland Heights reserves the right to accept or reject any bid and to waive any irregularities in the best interest of the City. A Bid may not be modified, withdrawn or cancelled by the Bidder within sixty (60) days following the time and date designated for the receipt of Bids, and each Bidder so agrees in submitting his Bid.
